A native of Heshi Township, Jinxi County, Jiangxi Province, originally from Xiangfu (now Kaifeng), Henan, and later moved to Jinling (now Nanjing, Jiangsu). A writer, seal carver and collector in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties.
